Support - Optional Domain Configuration
When you sign up for Storemill, you are given a free website address that you can use to get started. This takes the form of 'storename.storemill.com', where 'storename' is the name of your store.
You may have your own domain that you wish to use. This is possible through the use of a CNAME record. Most domain registration companies will provide you with the facility to create one.
Step 1 - Domain Provider
Use your domain provider's control panel to create a CNAME record for your domain name. This should map 'www' to 'storename.storemill.com' (substitute as appropriate). If you are unsure, please contact your domain provider who should be able to help you.
Step 2 - Storemill
Through the Storemill CMS, please click 'Setup' and then 'Aliases'. Click on your website and enter 'www.domainname.com' (substitute as appropriate). Click 'Add New'. Finally, click 'Setup' and then 'Front-ends'. Click on your website, then select your domain name as the primary address for your website. Also tick 'Redirection' and then save.
